Marcy TaylorMarcy is a violinist, performer, singer, composer and a violin teacher classically trained at The Music Conservatorium in Teplice, Czech Republic. She is also known to country fans as Marcela Koldova, formerly a member of The Country Sisters band.
Marcy’s passion for music and versatility is evident from the number of different bands she performs with, such as blues, jazz, gypsy, country and celtic bands.
Marcy Taylor’s professional success is undeniable. In 2007 she won “The Best Fiddle Soloist” Award in The Golden Fiddle Awards. A further 3 awards followed.
In The Australian Songwriting Contest 2010 Marcy won with her own composition “Black&White”, which is available for purchase as part of her released album “Move on”.
She has collected further nine accolades both here in Australia and overseas.
In 2010 Marcy won 2nd place at the International Songwriting Contest in Nashville, U.S.A. with her composition “Sand Storm”.
Marcy is also a dedicated violin teacher committed to her students. She ran Southern Cross Fiddlers, group of violinist in the past and also teaches guitar and piano-keyboard.
She plays other instruments such as viola, mandolin, organ etc. Her second album called Blue Bird has not been released commercially yet as there will be another indigenous instrument added shortly. This album is meditation healing music and Marcy recorded it herself only.
She is currently working on her 3rd CD which is combination of instrumental and vocal songs using different styles from gypsy to rock genres.
Marcy has travelled most of the word, and has played a variety of festivals in Europe and Australia such as Gstaad Country Music Festival and the International Trucker & Country Festival in Switzerland etc. In Australia, she played Jazz festival in Halls Gaps and Inverloch and Folk Festival in Maldon, Fleurieu in South Australia, Tamworth Country Festival in New South Wales and many others.
She is working with different bands and records lot of styles of music.

Move On

Move On is an album of original instrumentals including a wide variety of influences and genres such as country, bluegrass, classical, blues and gypsy. The album has won many awards at Australian songwriting contests and placed second at the Nashville International Songwriting contest.

Southern Cross Fiddlers

The Southern Cross Fiddlers group comprises of Marcy’s students. The group provides an alternative to the classical mainstream of tuition and performance. Learn styles such as improvisation, Celtic, Irish, Bluegrass, Swing, Folk, Gypsy, Jazz and Country. (more…)
